REASON # 1
HEALTH IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR IN OUR CHILDREN’S LIFE.
As parents, I think we can all agree we want the best for our children. Admittedly, we all have different concepts about what best is. Some parents want the best education, others the best toys, the best clothes, the best spiritual life, and yet others the best social circles. But I would think all parents would also agree with me that all these things would be secondary, if not superficial, to the physical well being of a child.
When a baby is born, what does it need more than anything in the world? Many would say a mother. But I think we can all agree that even without a mother’s love and touch, a healthy baby can survive if it is given FOOD to eat. And as it grows, the child will continue to need food to live.
LET’S AGREE THEN THAT:
1. a child’s physical well-being is the most important factor in a child’s life
2. a child cannot survive without food.
But as parents we don’t want our children to merely survive. We want our children to be healthy and disease-free for life.
REASON # 2
STUDY SHOWS FOOD AFFECTS NOT ONLY ONE’S HEALTH, BUT AFFECTS ONE’S CHILDREN’S HEALTH, AFFECTS A FAMILY’S HEALTH FOR GENERATIONS AND FOOD HAS THE POWER TO REVERSE DEGENERATIVE DISEASE.
As parents, we can agree that a child’s physical well being is the most important factor in a child’s life and that a child cannot survive without food. Admittedly, as parents we don’t want our children to merely survive. We want our children to be healthy and disease-free for life.
THE POTTENGER CAT STUDY
What can a Cat Study show us?
The Pottenger Cat Study illustrates clearly that food choices not only affect one’s health but also the health of offspring, as well as offspring’s children.
Mr. Francis M. Pottenger, Jr. accidentally discovered that his laboratory cats that ate raw meat scraps were much healthier than those on cooked cat food. He thereafter embarked on a 10-year study to determine the effects of foods on cats from 1932 to 1942.
As you can see from the chart below, the cats fed raw meat and raw milk were healthy for four (4) generations, while the group fed cooked meat and raw milk developed many diseases and died out by the fourth generation.
|GROUP 1||GROUP 2|
|2/3 raw meat1/3 raw milk
Cod liver oil
|2/3 cooked meat1/3 raw milk
Cod liver oil
|healthy||developed degenerative diseases, became quite lazy|
|healthy||developed degenerative diseases by mid-life, started losing their coordination|
|healthy||developed degenerative diseases very early in life, some born blind and weak, had a much shorter life span, many couldn’t even produce offspring, abundance of parasites and vermin, skin diseases and allergies increased to over 90 percent, kittens did not survive six months, bones became soft and pliable, cats suffered from adverse personality changes, males became docile, females became more aggressive|
|healthy||suffered from most of the degenerative diseases encountered in human medicine, died out totally by the fourth generation|
As you can see from the chart below, the cats fed raw meat and raw milk were healthy for four (4) generations, while the group fed raw meat and processed milk developed many diseases and died out by the fourth generation. It is interesting to note that groups C and D degenerated more quickly than groups B and E. Male kittens in group E1 developed rickets and died early deaths.
|GROUP A||GROUP B, C, D & E|
|FOOD FED||1/3 raw meat,
cod liver oil,
2/3 raw milk
|B: 1/3 raw meat, cod liver oil, 2/3 pasteurized milk
C: 1/3 raw meat, cod liver oil, 2/3 evaporated milk
D: 1/3 raw meat, cod liver oil, 2/3 sweetened condensed milk
E: Raw metabolized vitamin D milk (E1: Milk from cows on dry feed E2: Milk from cows on green feed)
|GENERATION 1||healthy||developed diseases and illnesses near end of life|
|GENERATION 2||healthy||developed diseases and illnesses near end of life|
|GENERATION 3||healthy||developed diseases and illnesses in beginning of life; many died before six months of age|
|GENERATION 4||healthy||no fourth generation was produced: either third generation parents were sterile, or fourth generation cats were aborted before birth|
According to the Price-Pottenger Nutrition Foundation, “Dr. Pottenger tried to return degenerating cats to health. He found that it took four generations on raw meat and raw milk to bring the kittens of second-generation degenerating cats back to normal. This experiment could not occur with third-generation degenerating cats because they did not live long enough to reproduce.”
LET’S AGREE THEN THAT BASED ON THE POTTENGER CAT STUDY THAT:
1. food consumed heavily influences one’s long-term physical health
2. food consumed affects one’s children
3. food consumed affects one’s family for generations, and
4. food consumed can reverse degeneration.
REASON # 3
MEAT-BASED DIETS SHORTEN LIVES AND CAUSE DEGENERATIVE DISEASES
BUT CATS ARE NOT HUMANS
Cats are strict carnivores and as the Pottenger Cat Study shows, they are healthiest on raw meat and milk. How do we relate this study to humans? By looking at people whose diets are based largely on meat.
Humans on meat diets:
ESKIMOS IN EAST GREENLAND: A RAW MEAT DIET
Eskimos in East Greenland were first studied by the Hȍygaard Expedition in 1936. 90% of the Eskimo diet was the flesh of seal, most eaten fresh in the raw and 10% vegetables: “fresh mammals (mostly seal) 54%, stored food of animal origin (mostly seal) 22%, fresh fish (mostly cod) 16%, imported vegetable foods 5%, native vegetable foods 2%, birds 1%.” The people did not show nutritional deficiencies in any vitamins or minerals with a diet that consisted almost 5 times more animal protein than average people at that time, 2 to 3 1/2 times more fat and 3 1/2 to 4 times less carbohydrates. At 20 and 25 years old, they were vibrant, full of life and energy, healthy, smart and hard working, but only 10 years later at 35, they lost most of these characteristics and most died of atherosclerosis, influenza or hunting accidents. In fact, average life expectancy for Eskimos studied was 27 1/2 years old.

AMERICANS TODAY: A COOKED MEAT DIET
According to the USDA, Americans increased their meat consumption by 57 pounds more in 2000 than in 1950. According to Mark Bittman, “Americans eat about the same amount of meat as we have for some time, about eight ounces a day, roughly twice the global average. At about 5 percent of the world’s population, we “process” (that is, grow and kill) nearly 10 billion animals a year, more than 15 percent of the world’s total.” According to the CDC, average life expectancy for Americans in 2007 was 77.9 years old with a long list of degenerative diseases as leading causes of death: heart disease, cancer, stroke, chronic lower respiratory diseases, Alzheimer’s, diabetes, nephritis, nephritic syndrome, nephrosis and septicemia.
DEGENERATIVE DISEASES CAUSED BY ANIMAL PROTEIN, let’s look at the top two:
The American Heart Association published a study that concluded that the consumption of processed meats is associated with higher incidence of coronary heart disease and diabetes mellitus. Another study found that high red meat intake increases risk of coronary heart disease and such a risk can be reduced by consuming other sources of proteins.
The Cancer Project states that “When cancer researchers started to search for links between diet and cancer, one of the most noticeable findings was that people who avoided meat were much less likely to develop the disease… Meat is devoid of the protective effects of fiber, antioxidants, phytochemicals, and other helpful nutrients, and it contains high concentrations of saturated fat and potentially carcinogenic compounds, which may increase one’s risk of developing many different kinds of cancer.“
One of the causes of cancer is dioxins. Low exposures to dioxins cause mutations thus tumors in our bodies. Any molecule that is present in our bodies poses a risk of cancer. As a doctor from Columbia University said on the Blue Vinyl: “Zero exposure is best”. Unfortunately, this is not so easy in the US, as according to the National Academy of Sciences: “A North American eating a typical North American diet will receive 93% of their dioxin exposure from meat and dairy products (23% is from milk and dairy alone; the other large sources of exposure are beef, fish, pork, poultry and eggs). In fish, these toxins bioaccumulate up the food chain so that dioxin levels in fish are 100,000 times that of the surrounding environment. The best way to avoid dioxin exposure is to reduce or eliminate your consumption of meat and dairy products by adopting a vegan diet. ”
|Eskimos 1940||Americans 2000|
|Animal Protein (oz/day avg)||10.6||8.48|
|Fat (oz/day avg)||5.92||3.2|
|Carbs (oz/day avg)||4.32||8.8|
|Life Expectancy (years)||27 ½, youthfulness lost, death by accidents, flu and atherosclerosis||77.9, death caused largely by degenerative diseases|
LET’S AGREE THEN THAT IT SEEMS:
1. a raw meat based diet shortens life, and
2. a cooked meat based diet creates many degenerative diseases.
REASON # 4
PLANT-BASED DIETS PREVENT AND CURE DISEASES
Based on the Pottenger Cat Study, we can conclude that food consumed directly affect long term health and the future health of generations in a family. Diets heavy on meats have shown to cause early deaths and degenerative diseases.
Is there a diet then that has the power to create healthy long lives?
In the Pottenger Cat Study, it is clear that the diet that prevented degenerative diseases in the cats was also the exact cure for the disease. Is it the same for humans?
FOODS THAT PREVENT AND CURE OUR DISEASES FROM THE MOST COMPREHENSIVE STUDY ON THE RELATIONSHIP OF DIET AND DISEASE THE CHINA STUDY
Heart disease can be reversed with diet alone.
Breast cancer is related to levels of female hormones in the blood, which are determined by the foods we eat.
Consuming dairy foods can increase the risk of prostrate cancer.
Antioxidants, found in fruits and vegetables, are linked to better mental performance in old age.
Kidney stones can be prevented by a healthy diet.
Type 1 diabetes, one of the most devastating diseases that can befall a child, is convincingly linked to infant feeding practices.
STUDY OF RATS ADMINISTERED AFLATOXIN IN INDIA
Aflatoxin is a carcinogen and administered to 2 groups of rats, one group ate a diet composed of 20% protein and the other group ate only 5%. The evidence shows nutrition is powerful in fighting against cancer.
|AT GROUP 1||RAT GROUP 2|
|Protein % of Diet||20%||5%|
|Evidence of Liver Cancer||100%||0%|
Author of The China Study, Dr. T. Colin Campbell, discovered further that “Casein, which makes up 87% of cow’s milk protein, promoted all stages of the cancer process. What type of protein did not promote cancer, even at high levels of intake? The safe proteins were from plants, including wheat and soy… people who ate the most animal-based foods got the most chronic disease. Even relatively small intakes of animal-based food were associated with adverse effects. People who ate the most plant-based foods were the healthiest and tended to avoid chronic disease… The findings are consistent.”

Increased risk of fatal ovarian cancer for women who eat eggs 3 or more times a week vs. less than once a week: 3 times
Increased risk of fatal prostate cancer for men who consume meat, cheese, eggs and milk daily vs. sparingly or not at all: 3.6 times.
Average U.S. man’s risk of death from heart attack: 50 percent
Risk of average U.S. man who eats no meat: 15 percent
Risk of average U.S. man who eats no meat, dairy or eggs: 4 percent
Amount you reduce risk of heart attack if you reduce consumption of meat, dairy products and eggs by 50 percent: 45 percent

A CASE FOR BRONCHIAL ASTHMA
Where: University Hospital in Linkoping, Sweden
Who: patients with severe bronchial asthma patients, who required cortisone or other medication
What: placed on a pure vegetarian diet, without any eggs or dairy products
Result after 1 year:
more than 90% of the patients who completed the project reported a major improvement in the severity and frequency of asthma attacks
medication dosages dropped an average of 50 to 90%
a number of the patients discontinued medication altogether
THE GERSON INSTITUTE
The Gerson Institute is an alternative, non-toxic treatment of cancer and other disease, using the Gerson Therapy using organic foods, juicing, coffee enemas, detoxification and natural supplements to activate the body’s ability to heal itself.
Western Medicine’s solution for Cancer (chemo, radiation, surgery, drug) results in less than 30% survival in 5 years.
Dr. Max Gerson’s Therapy has a 50% cure rate with the TERMINALLY ILL!
LET’S AGREE THEN THAT:
1. decreasing meat, dairy and eggs in our diet lowers one’s risk for degenerative diseases, and
2. increasing plant foods in our diet can prevent and cure degenerative diseases.
REASON # 5
OUR IMMUNE SYSTEM IS AFFECTED BY COOKED AND PROCESSED FOODS
As a Mama, whose child itched until there as blood on his bed because he was allergic to everything and who was thought to have a growth at 2 years old (what a scare that was!), I wanted to feed my child a healthy diet for all these given reasons. But I couldn’t fathom that a vegan or vegetarian diet high in GMO soy products or French Fries could ever be a healthy one. So I dug deeper.
The question I asked was what foods are the best for the body?
Foods that cure and prevent disease
Foods that are naturally and easily accepted by the body.
Foods that do not disrupt the system.
Foods that are not seen as alien to the system.
A STUDY ON RAW, COOKED, PROCESSED FOODS
When an infectious illness or foreign substance is introduced into our body, the first reaction in our blood is to increase white blood cells in order to fight them off. In 1930 Dr. Paul Kouchakoff discovered that through the reactions of our white blood cells the body reacts differently to raw foods, cooked foods and processed foods.
RESULTS OF HIS STUDY
He found that:
– fresh, unprocessed, uncooked raw foods do not affect white blood cells
raw foods tested were unboiled drinking water, unboiled mineral water, sea salt, raw greens, raw cereals, raw nuts, raw honey, raw eggs, raw meat, raw fish, raw milk, sour milk, butter
– same raw foods (above) cooked causes an increase in white blood cells but the percentages in the blood formula remain the same
each food has a critical temperature that affects how the body reacts to them
|Critical Temperature in F||Foods|
|192||Cereals, cabbage, tomatoes, bananas|
|206||Carrots, strawberries, figs|
– processed and refined foods causes an increase in white blood cells, as well as changes the percentages in the blood formula
white sugar, chocolate bars, alcohol
– adding raw foods to a meal with cooked foods will not increase white blood cells, as long as the critical temperature of the raw foods is higher than that of the cooked food
LET US AGREE THEN THAT:
- fresh, unprocessed, raw foods in their natural state are easily and naturally accepted by our bodies
- lightly cooked foods heated at temperatures lower than their intrinsic critical temperatures are naturally accepted by the body
- foods that are heated at high temperatures and foods that are processed are seen as foreign substances that cause a false alarm in our immune system and increases our white blood cells in order to fight them
- raw foods have the power to negate the ill effects of cooked and processed foods in the body
These all point to the most natural foods most easily accepted by the body: RAW VEGAN FOODS.
