I say this every time we hit December, but where did the year go? I feel like this one zoomed by especially fast. So here I am, giving you guys some Christmas gift suggestions…a little last-minute! But better late than never right? If you’re anything like me, then you’re still frantically Christmas shopping and will do so right up until Christmas day. I have some friends who do their Christmas shopping in July. Yup, they’re definitely my inspirations. One day I may get that organized!
This year my list is very eclectic but has elements of fun, practicality, plus caring for the environment. Stuff all us moms should care about!
Matthew & Melka earrings
I’m obsessed with the Fleur de Lis earrings because they’re not just beautiful they can be a couple of earrings in one! I’m all about having options for less. We have some of the best jewelry artisans in the Philippines so we should always support local. When I’m abroad I constantly get compliments on my earrings and necklaces by local designers. Ken Samudio’s earrings in particular are amazing because they’re so lightweight. I can’t wear really heavy ones anymore as they give me a headache. So these are perfect.
I was gifted this bag two years ago and it is the best. You can use it as a beach bag or as a handbag. The versatile Viajecito beach totes are made of durable EVA foam rubber. Each tote comes with a removable zipped canvas lining, and interchangeable braided rope handles.
UV Care Portable Germ Zapper
The world is a pretty dirty place unfortunately. If you have kids, you are especially conscious of it. The UV Care portable germ zapper is the answer to your prayers. It has 3 UV-C lamps that effectively sterilize a 15 SQM area. It helps to provide a clean environment which is life changing when you have 3 small children bringing home all sorts of nasty germs from school. It is so easy to use as well!
I sound like I’m always on repeat but I’ll never stop preaching about the need to STOP USING PLASTIC. There are 3 simple and very easy ways to do it in life and you can help others by gifting them with reusable bottles, straws, and bags.
- Buy a bottle you can safely reuse for water. My top pick (and I’ve tried a lot) is still the Klean Kanteen. It’s stainless steel so it’s still light enough (compared to glass bottles). My whole family has their own.
- Reusable bags. Always, always carry them in your handbag just as you would your wallet. Once this becomes a habit it will be second nature to you
- Stainless steel straws! I’m sure by now you have heard the horrifying statistic of how many plastic straws are used and thrown on a daily basis.
You can get Klean Kanteen bottles and stainless steel straws plus reusable bags at Certified Calm.
